Hi Sarah! I am so glad I found your website and blog. I write World War II novels, as well! I am really looking forward to reading your first book as I have a passion for the B-17 bombers and crews that probably started when I watched Memphis Belle years and years ago. :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your book being published!
Hi Melissa! I'm so glad you found me too :) I love meeting fellow WWII buffs! Are you published yet? I realize that question can be like asking a nine-months-pregnant lady if she's had that baby yet :)
ReplyDeleteHaha - nope, not published yet except for some short stories, encylopedia articles (all on WW2), and a few other odds and ends. My last two novels are set in WW2 and so is the current one. I've had agents tell me they love it, but can't "break" it into this market right now. But I shall persevere! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Melissa - I've heard that too. In 2007 I had an agent say he'd sign me if, when he went to ICRS, he could find even ONE publisher willing to look at a WWII proposal. He couldn't. Then in 2008 I submitted to Revell and they bought it! So keep persevering. It's always in God's timing. If you're getting short stories and articles published and agents loving your novels, you're on the right track!
