Today in World War II History

70 Years Ago—March 3, 1940: In the Soviet-Finnish war, the Soviets launch a final major offensive at Viipuri, Finland.
65 Years Ago—March 3, 1945: US and Canadian troops link between the Maas and Rhine rivers.

  2. :) I'm always tempted to add things like that. After my grandma died, we found some of the letters my grandpa had written her from the Pacific. He called my feisty grandma his "little girl" and we all melted.

  3. Oh that's SO COOL!! My Gramma just recently bestowed my Grampa's ARMY trunk to me filled with ALL his WWII stuff including 4 years of letters, Japanese things taken from bodies (ugh), medals, ARMY papers, life insurance policies, and more ... TREASURES!!! I practically melted. I've been a WWII junkie since highschool. AREN'T LETTERS THE GREATEST??
