70 Years Ago—Nov. 20, 1943: In Gilberts, US Army and Marines land on Betio in Tarawa Atoll and Makin, and take Makin the same day. New song in Top Ten: “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’” from the musical Oklahoma!
