70 Years Ago—Feb. 19, 1942: Roosevelt signs Executive Order 9066, authorizing removal of “suspicious persons” from West Coast, leading to internment of Japanese-Americans. Japanese planes sink 12 ships at port in Darwin and Broome in Australia, 172 killed, almost all aircraft destroyed. Canadian parliament passes conscription law.
What an incredible photo Sarah! My heart breaks looking at that little face. How she must have wonder at what was happening all around her! Me thinks we should have learned something since but as news tells us human kindness towards our fellow man is in short supply... What would Jesus do?...
