Today in World War II History

70 Years Ago—Apr. 15, 1942: Eighth Air Force Bomber Command sets up headquarters at High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. French resistance attacks German headquarters at Arras.

  1. Hi Sarah! I like your posts. Have you ever watched any of the documentaries on WW2 (Such as WW2 in HD,WW2 planes, etc...) I have learned so much on the war, from the ground and the AIR, while watching these documentaries and listening to real-life accounts from WW2 vets. Their stories are amazing!

  2. Hi Rachel! Yes, I love those documentaries :) In fact, a History Channel documentary on the 8th Air Force gave me the idea for the setting for A Distant Melody.

  3. That's really fascinating! I have put so many of those documentaries on my netflix queu. I wrote a novel (which I am currently editing) that is set during WW2. The story was inspired by letters that were written between me and a soldier after 9/11.
