Today in World War II History

70 Years Ago—Aug. 24, 1942: In the Battle of the Eastern Solomons, Japanese carrier Ryujo sunk and American carrier USS Enterprise damaged. US and Mexico agree to allow Mexican temporary farm workers in US; 200,000 Mexican braceros will work in US during war.
